Don't drink and drive... vehicles on land or on water!
When setting up a charcoal fire, spread out the charcoal to see if you have enough, then put it in a pile before lighting it. This creates air spaces and it lights better. When it is hot enough so that you can't hold your hand over it for a count of five, then use a utensil to spread the coals back out.
